Tomorrow brings the beginning of the quarterfinal round of the World Cup. Russians, who lost their chance to qualify for the championship this November in a 1-0 loss to Slovenia, will be watching even though their team is not in the Cup.
And a full 8% of them think that the team to take home the golden trophy on July 11 will be…the Russians.
(The poll, to those of you who think I am exaggerating Russian zaniness, was conducted June 18-22. Again, the Russians were disqualified in November.)
