Wedded bliss.
Holding forth at a joint press conference with his best friend/muse/doppelganger Silvio Berlusconi, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin let us all know that he is not sleeping with President/underling/sidekick Dmitry Medvedev.
Asked about the nature of their relationship Putin said, and I quote:
“You’ve laid it out in a very literary way! Mr. Medvedev and I are people of traditional orientation. I can say this with absolute confidence. As for any marital unions, I think you’ve overdone it a bit.”
He elaborated, of course.
He and I are friendly. We have been friends for many, many years. I’ve already spoken about this. And the way in which we’ve divided up our work, I think we can be proud of this. We act and are motivated exclusively by the interests of the country and the Russian people… We’ve divided our duties in accordance with the constitution and current Russian law.
May they live long and prosper.
